TAP LEFT IN LIMBO

As of July 1, 2015, the State of Illinois is left without a budget and TAP is left without a contract or funding from the State.  Some TAP Centers are closing their doors.  Others are drastically cutting back on services.  TAP will make every effort to continue to provide the services needed by Illinois children and families.  However, a prolonged budget stalemate could lead to severe restrictions on services.

What can you do to help?

  • Contact your legislators and let them know how important TAP services are to your family.  Ask them to work together to pass a responsible, balanced budget.

  • If you are on Facebook, visit the Save TAP page and share your story.  That page will be the most up-to-date source of information.  Share the Save TAP posts on your timeline so that everyone will be aware of what is going on.

  • Take a #SaveTAPSelfie and post it to your social media accounts.  Help us put a face on the budget crisis.  Look under Helpful Tools on this web site to find your #SaveTAPSelfie message sheet, and follow the simple instructions.  Be sure to use the hashtag!
